    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Although I was warned how long the hours were I rarely finished before 7, something which I wasn't expecting.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I made some very good friends during the job. I was well respected and appreciated by my manger and assistant manager.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • When I joined the management was all a bit up in the air but when it settled I had a lot of support.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was very busy most of the time and understaffed.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was trusted a lot and given quite a lot of responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt what skills are relevant to office jobs so I can continue to work on them in my studies.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was good fun, apart from when it was too busy!!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a bit of confusion about what I could and couldn't do. I felt like a hinderance at times.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I know that if I go back I will have a chance to take up where I left off. I was given a lot of training that would be useful for a long term career.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The hours could be too much for me for a long term job. The benefits do get better as the job does and you are in charge of your career.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Not really, I didn't meet anyone until the last week.

    1/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not really relevant as I lived at home. They have offices all over the country so you can choose where you want to work.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Pretty standard. A few local clubs and towns surrounding where I worked.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • No real options at all.

    1/5
