The Role
I enjoyed my position high, I was treated as an equal and never as 'just an intern' which was refreshing and encouraging of my work.
I feel completely valued by my colleagues, my team is a small department and I'm made to feel, and genuinely believe, that the work that I do is highly valued and important to the running of the team.
A lot of support was given to me throughout my year, I knew who to ask and where to find answers, and if who I asked didn't know, they'd always point me on the right direction.
My department is very fast paced, so it is a rarity not to be busy, we go through busier periods where it is amped up but the standard day is busy in itself.
From pretty much day one I was given real responsibilities and important tasks which helped me integrate into the team better as I felt more of a team member.
As I am within HR and my degree is business based a lot of the skills acquired throughout my studies where transferable and so was beneficial to put to a practical use at Siemens. I have also had opportunities given to me outside the scope of my role that can also be brought back to university mext year.
The Company
The general atmosphere in my office is quite quiet but also very relaxed and chatty throughout the day, quite a good balance.
I think on a local level it is well organised and structured but sometimes on a central level like organising modules on the IDP was easy to get wrong and confusion surrounds the details.
I have monthly 1 to 1's and it always seemed very focused on my development within the department but also personally, managers main concern always seemed to be to ensure I had got the most in terms of personal development and taking steps to guarantee that, such as giving me more or more challenging tasks.

The Culture
Yes but it was only after we started and was because we asked for a social network presence to get to know each other, which was arranged for us
My placement is in Lincoln which has a huge student presence so the costs of living and socialising has been relatively cheap, which means I've been able to use this year to save a lot more than I thought I'd be able to
Again student ares, so good nightclub scene with a fair amount of options
Yes if you wanted to but never pressured
