    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I loved it! Warner Bros offers you so much opportunity and important experiences that not many other companies can provide, whether it be professionally or personally. Whether it's attending Gamescom which has over 300K attendees and representing WB as staff or being invited to exclusive movie premieres WB, offers you so much opportunity to enrich your life with!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Unlike most other placements WB actually treats you as if you were a full-time employee, there's no making cups of tea for your superiors or filing mounds and mounds of paper; WB actually provides with a fully fledged experience where you have real responsibilities that allow you to develop as a professional.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • WB staff offer a tremendous amount of support and guidance but at the same time want you to become a competent and independent employee. They won't spoon feed you but at the same time they won't leave you to drown in your own work, WB staff offer the optimum level of guidance and support that allows you to truly develop into a fully competent member of the team,

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Working in the entertainment industry you're going to have busy periods and quiet periods, however overall the workload tends to be easily manageable once you get a grasp of things. Periods around large public holidays like Christmas and huge consumer events like E3 are very hectic but this is to be expected. But as a whole I would say the work load is fairly balanced.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • At WB as mentioned before you're given a tonne of responsibility! Which is a tremendous opportunity to be given and during internship if you show particular prowess in certain areas of your role you'll be given more and more responsibility to fully enable to reach your maximum whilst at WB.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills you develop whilst at WB are extremely valuable and very helpful for other aspects of your life. I'd say the main skill I've developed / "learned" is being able to properly prioritise and execute tasks to a high standard. This will most certainly help me during my studies which will hopefully stand me in good stead for my final year and also allow me to enjoy my final year at uni to the max.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in my office was great, it was relaxed and social however it didn't get in the way of productivity and efficiency. You will naturally create a friendship group within your office which then opens the door to other things, for instance playing football every Friday with that particular group. I'd say it's a great balance of serious work & fun, social environment.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was set-up superbly there was always opportunities and experiences offered to the interns from the company, such as attending movie premieres. And in terms of recruitment of both myself and the year after for my replacement there was no fault or mistake made at all, overall I feel the internship programme here at WB is of the highest standard.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • WB offer a wide range of training programmes and experiences that help you develop as an employee and allow you to feel more confident within the work space and the work your executing. Overall I feel the programmes WB offers is more than satisfactory and are really beneficial to your time here at WB.

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • WB are great at hiring ex-interns, a number of people within my office were hired as an ex-intern of WB after completing their placement year. You're not just tied to your particular department either upon return, job offers from various departments could potentially come your way if you make a seriously good impression during your placement year here.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Certainly most Thursdays interns will get together for some after-work drinks and nights out, also once you get to know each other house parties etc will become a regular occurrence. Colleagues within your office will also be happy and willing to go for drinks or other social activities. But yes there's certainly a good social scene within WB.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cost of living was cheap as I commuted in from Essex everyday which saved me plenty of money, in terms of socialising it depends on where you go and what time. London is always expensive for socialising but to make the most of it and get the best deals try and arrange things around happy hour as this will save you plenty of money! In terms of lunch it tends to average between £4 - £6 a day.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife is decent around our office, there's plenty of pubs and bars to choose from that cater for all different tastes! You're definitely not short of options for nightlife in London however as mentioned before it can be very very pricey so make sure to be as savvy as possible when it comes to nightlife and drinks.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were a few outside of work opportunities to get involved in, I myself compete in football outside of work on a regular basis which is great and WB is very supportive with these types of things! There's also plenty of charity work to be apart of which is always fulfilling and WB tend to support you in these endeavours also.

    3/5
