The Role
I learnt many new things about the translation business, had the opportunity to take over my own projects and worked within a lovely team
I felt very valued by my team members
I had a mentor but I worked closely with every person in my team (5 people) and could ask anyone of them in the case of questions.
It depended on the day, in my first week I had hardly anything to do which was unfortunate, but it got better after that. I was never too busy.
The amount of responsibility was absolutely appropriate for this internship. The projects that were given to me were always of reasonable size and deadline.
As I studied translation, it was very useful and interesting to gain an insight into this side of the translation business
The Company
The atmosphere in my team was great, of the office altogether not so much. I didn't feel like there was a lot of communication between the teams which is a bit unfortunately as they could definitely benefit from better and clearer communication.
It appeared to be very organized at first - I was given an internship booklet and a checklist on my first day. It turned out, however, that the internship itself was not as organized and well structured as I had expected it. There is definitely room for improvement.
I felt like I was given plenty of opportunities to develop and strengthen my skills.
Working from home
It made me realize that purely project management alone is not a career path I want to pursue.
The Culture
Yes but that was entirely up to us interns, i.e. not promoted by the company
VERY expensive, but that is London and I knew that before I arrived, so it didn't come as a surprise
Some very nice places for after-hour drinks.
Not that I know of.
