The Role
Each day is different and you are given all the training you need to be able to work effectively. The team are helpful and supportive.
everyone got along and they made an effort to include me when I started. Lots of team events and networking within the firm. really enjoyed the team.
there is always someone to help. Everyone is willing to spend time to help you learn and they understand that when you start you don't have a knowledge on your team.
we had monthly volumes so during the course of the month the volumes would peak and then drop off, and then peak again etc so some days were quiet and others really busy but I never struggled with workloads.
at the start because you have no knowledge someone sits with you, but the more you learn the more independent you become. By the end of the placement I had full responsibility and would sometimes run the team on my own.
you learn so many transferable skills that will help with future roles. Highly recommend it!
The Company
everyone is chatty and sociable. Theres always noise and people are always happy which makes the work better. Lots of activities within my department
Morgan Stanley have done placements for a while now and so they are very organised and have everything you need.
Theres continuous training going on that you can sign up to. Team to teams, meet an ED, online training. theres loads!

It seems fairly straightforward to join as a grad after doing a placement and many people seem to do that. After doing an IP you skip a level of the grad programme too.
The Culture
Yes, always events on and trips for lunch/after work drinks. The employees are very sociable.
I live in Glasgow so its fairly cheap-£1 drinks, Avg rent £400pcm
Theres lots of clubs and bars that are reasonably priced. Plenty of choice. Many things to do during the day.
Yes, people are always looking for new beginners to join them in events and teams eg 5 a side football etc
