    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the Women in business scheme as everyone was very approachable and I was able to meet lots of new people- and at the same time have a very good insight into Assurance.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Even though I was only working for 5 days- all the people I shadowed tried to give me work in order for me to have a better insight of what they normally do. This was of a happy surprise to me as I did not think I would be given real work to do!

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received lots of support both from the Recruitment team together with the people I shadowed and other grads. Everyone was happy to answer my questions and I never felt left out in anything I did.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel I now have a much better insight into the area I want to delve into once I graduate: Assurance. Looking at the tasks they do daily and having an understanding of some of the programs they use has really helped me to decide that I want to keep my idea of stepping into a career in audit.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured as everyday I knew what I was going to do in advance. All the people I shadowed came on the first day to introduce themselves and inform me about what i would be doing during the week.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • General atmosphere was great and everyone was very kind & approachable!

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company provided me with a laptop and the necessary software that I needed in order to complete the tasks i was going to do throughout the week. This was of a surprise to me as I was only going to be in the office for one week; however, PwC made me feel as one more in the team which was very nice.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • This scheme is great for anyone who is thinking in of applying to PwC and to a specific role. It really gives you so much insight into the field and PwC in general, which you would not get from websites or events. Looking at what their day to day role consists of gave me by 100% a really good insight of how the working & social environment in PwC is, and about assurance. I know now I want to do assurance for sure once I graduate!

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It helped me understand a lot about PwC's culture! Everyone in the Assurance team is very approachable, not only to the people who are in your team but to anyone in PwC. I was able to see how some of the people I shadowed were happy to answer any questions from any recent graduates who just stepped into PwC. This company is really the clear picture of a "Work hard, play hard" culture!

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Everyday from my week was different. They made sure I shadowed Senior Associates and recent graduates. I think this has been a great thing to have as I can see the difference of a day to day live from different people at different levels. I could see how some of the things I learned at university were used in their role. I know now what I will be stepping into for a graduate job in assurance at PwC- and this has just made me even more sure that I want to do it!

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid but not reimbursed the travel / accommodation expenses. However, at the end both break even and it was good.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, sure. I was introduced to graduates and even senior managers! At lunch, we normally went for lunch together with other people in the team. At that time I was also able to ask questions about PwC in general, the city I chose (Bristol) and their role. On the last day, there was something I was very lucky to attend which was "The Assurance day" where everyone in the Assurance team came together to talk about results and any future goals to achieve within the team.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • I didn't attend any social event on that week, however they do socials and networking opportunities quite often. Only that week on Friday, they had drinks after work and a ball (where I think people from PwC could go to) This was a good thing to have as you have the chance to meet people from other sectors such as deals, tax etc.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There are sport teams available within PwC, and many volunteering activities you are able to participate! I found out they had a volunteering day in May where everyone who wants to can get involved! There are surely many things you can get involved if you want to.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I will recommend this insight 100%. All of my friends know how much I enjoyed the Women in Business scheme and how it has given me the opportunity to know more about Assurance. It is a great opportunity for someone who isn't very sure of the role and the company, where this scheme although it's only 5 days it gives you an amazing experience of PwC.
