    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The scheme was extremely enjoyable with a high quality of work and training provided. The people working at CMS were very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole week worthwhile. Furthermore, the social on one of the evenings was a fantastic way to get to know the firm more intimately, while having an incredible time on the London Eye and in Gordon Ramsey's restaurant the Bread Street Kitchen.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my time at the firm. I felt I was given high quality work, which engendered a real sense that I was trusted. Moreover, the training seminars that we received, of top quality, made me feel that the firm was investing my future development, and that I was valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received lots of support and guidance from the trainees that I had the opportunity to work with, as well as higher level associates and partners who took time out of their day to give us talks and information.

  • It will be very helpful in my degree studies and future applications to the firm.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured with clear timetabling and opportunity to carry out work, as well as learn through scheduled talks ad seminars.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was collegiate and welcoming. It gave a clear impression of hard work combined with a familial atmosphere that made it all worthwhile.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of personal training and development, the firm invested heavily in me. There were numerous talks and seminars that developed our presentation, communication and negotiation skills, as well as insight talks from senior partners in the firm that were enlightening about the career and work opportunities with an emphasis on continued learning and development throughout you time in the firm.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The trainees, associates and partners as well as the Grad Rec team did a fantastic job in explaining the roles of future lawyers at the firm, and the exposure to real working environments gave a unique insight into what it would be like to have a full time role.

  • The insight was extremely helpful in helping me understand the company culture based on a collegiate environment and hard work that is rewarded, as well as the vast emphasis on innovation and international collaboration and expansion.

  • It was very valuable as is highlighted all the positive aspects of the firm and career development within it, with a healthy dose of pragmatism, which made it a serious contender as a place I would love to work in the future.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid very well for the fantastic opportunity, which I would have happily have paid for to experience.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • At numerous socials, and designated networking events, as well as through the work undertaken itself, there were plenty of opportunities to network.

  • Really enjoyable and informative.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, there is opportunity to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activity for want of a better description, with sports teams and the ability to work with charities promoting all manner of fantastic causes.

  • Yes for all the reasons I have explained previously.
