About You
I enjoyed the whole insight day. I now know more about the different divisions and work that they do since there is very little detailed information online.
I felt very valued as I was able to ask questions freely about anything I was unsure on. I also networked with employees and they answered any questions I had about the daily life of a working Actuary. I was also given the details of their work and work-life balance and study support at WTW.
The graduate recruitment team were very helpful. There were presentations from individuals from all the different departments. They held business game activities to help us get a feel for the type of work they do on a day to day basis and ended with an application skills workshop which helped us with general application to WTW and beyond. Interviews tips provided are very useful as they are from recruiters' point of view.
The application/CV advice will be useful for applying for all jobs in future. The presentations to the various branchs of the business help to understand different roles, including HR consulting, retirement and insurance acturial services, software and reinsurance. Even though you may only be interested to apply for one role, it is good to have a general picture of different services in the industry and at WTW.
The Company
Very strucured. We were provided with the agenda 2 days earlier. They follow strictly to the agenda.
Very friendly. Attendees were quite shy at the beginning of the day but during the afternoon case study everyone spoke out and participated eagerly.
This was only a one day event, there was no training but they did try to develop our business thinking skills with business games. We were all fast tracked to the interview stage for the summer application.
Quite a lot. The networking session really helps to understand what they do on a daily basis.
Networking session was really helpful as you can understand the flat structure at WTW. There is also a good work-life balance since working time and place are flexible as long as you finish your work on time. There is also a lot of study support for taking the actuarial exams.
Definitely. I understand more the importance of different roles and how they support one another at WTW, especially retirement and insurance actuaries.
Everything Else
We were reimburesed upto 50 pounds.
Mainly lunch time.
Very helpful to understand specifically what they do and the company culture.
Many charity work. They also have sports and arts societies that you can join in. There are also induction activies in other cities or countries.
Definitely if you are looking for hr consulting, insurance and acturarial work.
