    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was extremely informative throughout. The fact that my scheme only had 16 people on it really shows how interested the firm is in you. From the moment you walk in, the staff already know your name and are willing to help. The two weeks consisted of desk time as well as very informative (actually informative and useful) workshops which I would love to repeat such as presentation skills and project management, but done to such a great standard that it really makes you excited for the workshops. The social events organised were also extremely fun but also allowed us to bond as a group.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt extremely valued. The work which I received while sat in the Banking department was billable and that which a trainee would undertake. I have never found myself to be in a position of being on around 6 deals on my second day of work. Any work which I completed was talked through, constructively criticised and later used in real life transactions.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Since day one we were introduced to the extremely warm and receptive staff who we knew would always be helpful and answer any need. The Grad Rec staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and make sure that you're making the most out of the scheme and make the whole experience so much more enjoyable.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Although most of the work was standard trainee work, do you happen to learn a lot from it as well as the fact that there was a chance to attend workshops and training seminars which allowed you to learn so much more.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very structured but not overkill. Although there were set times for the work day, this varied from department to department. The workshops were very structured and clear in order to make sure we got the most out of them. The scheme was also well planned so that we are exposed to more and more stuff which becomes relevant to us without overfeeding our brains etc and allowed us to have plenty of desk time.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I found myself to be bored for 30 minutes maybe at least twice, which was extremely good considering that we spent two weeks here. The fellow students were really friendly, as were the staff and everyone we were exposed to which made it a really good environment to be in
