    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed all the things we learnt and did. I got to learn a lot about the company itself and the things they do. I got to find out more about their motto 'building a better working world' and I really liked that. The tasks we did were enjoyable, including the prom task we did. Everything was very interactive.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was extremely impressed with the way I was treated. I didn't think I'd be taken care of like that. We always had a table host who would help us all out. I told them that I had some problems with public speaking and they kept encouraging me to speak which really helped me. I answered questions and I spoke to people. I felt like I was valued. It wasn't just somewhere where you listened to people speak and you're ignored. What I really liked was that they tried to listen to everyone that had answers to something or that wanted to share something.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • As I said earlier, I received a lot of guidance and support. The table host who would help us all out. I had some problems with public speaking and they kept encouraging me to speak which really helped me. I answered questions and I spoke to people. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I thin everything I learnt would be very helpful for the future. Especially as I want to go into economics and management in the future. My public speaking skills have definitely improved massively. I'm more confident when I'm speaking. My presentation skills have also improved as I also look and sound more confident after this session. Presentational skills are always very important.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The day had a well planned structure. When we all arrived we were all brooch in and introduced to the hosts of the event. We were given brief information on what would be happening before the event which was helpful for us. Everything was well timed so that we could go through with everything that had been planned. We were given two breaks so that we could all get a snack and go to the bathroom quickly.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was a very positive atmosphere the whole time. Everyone interacted with each other and the hosts. We were given lots of information but not in a boring way like other places. As well as being educational in some way and informative, it was also enjoying. It was great when Bianca Miller came and talked to us about personal branding. She created a happy atmosphere. We had some very funny conversations at some times.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested in me a lot. They worked on what to help me in and how to do so. As mentioned before. They improved a lot of my communication skills such as public speaking and presentation. They helped me to learn about them. They answered any questions I had about the company during the event. I don't think any other company devotes so much thought into others.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I learnt a lot about the company. I learnt about their motto 'building a better working world' and how they work. I loved the values of the company. I found out about how they work. I found out more about their audit and tax departments in detail. I found out about their different offices - Canary Wharf being their main financial services office for banks (not just banks but mostly). I found out about the different programmes they have to offer people. I found out about their application process. I found out about how they treat their workers.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I found out a lot about the company culture and their values. Their motto 'building a better working world' really appealed to me. They had some very nice principles. How a company treats their workers is a very important part of their values and culture - the company seemed to treat their workers very well.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Everything we did was great. The content of the day really helped me improve my skills. The content of the day also made more certain of what I want to do in the future. I definitely want to do economics and management. And I was absolutely love to do a programme with Ernst & Young in the future. I will be attending as many of their programmes as I can to stay connected with them.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I didn't require anything to be paid for. I just had to catch a train to get there which was very easy and cheap.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, we met many employees of the company. We met a few directors. We also met some employees from the school leavers programme whom we learnt lots from. There were good opportunities of networking with them. Having more people would also have been great though.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • It was nice that we were able to interact with the employees and get to learn about them and their jobs and their role in their company. We talked to them a lot and found out lots.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I found out about their times abroad which really appealed to me. Some people travel a lot for work purposes and some of that time they get to go around sightseeing - I would love to go traveling. I also found out about the different parties employees may have, such as Christmas parties or parties after a really busy hard working time.
