    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A placement with a higher level of responsibility than most, with managers allocating projects essential for the organisation's improvement. Interesting and exciting challenges fuelled an enjoyable experience at Knorr-Bremse, and has provided invanuable experience that I will be able to bring to future employments.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As with all employments there are always certain individuals that you do not see eye-to-eye with. However, the colleages in Customer Services are fantastic people, and have provided support that has shaped the way I work and learn. I was welcomed and made to feel at home as soon as I walked through the door.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Managerial support is fundemental to individual growth within an organisation. Managers (and colleagues) are incredibly supportive and never hesitate to answer any questions you have, show you new skills or help you with issues.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Learning the fundementals to the industry and organisational processes takes time, but once learned, and once projects are flowing you can become as busy as you want to be. There are endless opportunities for new and different projects thoroughly supported by managers and colleagues. and as a placement student you can work hard to make a real difference to the organisation's performance and operational processes.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was surprised by the level of responsibility I was given during my placement, being given full responsibility for vital projects and helping implement new processes that will be used throughout the organisation. The main advantage to a placement at Knorr-Bremse is the experience gained from being given such responsibility.
