    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was a great programme which exposes participants to three different job areas of the firm. The programme was well organised and structured. Case studies and activities were planned to give insight into the specific business area at hand, and there was good opportunities to meet Partners and Directors of the firm.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • 4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information received was largely beneficial in terms of commercial awareness in general, knowing what Deloitte is like and what specific departments do. Skills were also developed through numerous case studies where we had to work in teams to plan our approach, synthesise information, and collaborate effectively. Overall it was a great learning experience that would assist in my degree studies and beyond.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was well structured to incorporate exposure into three different business areas of Deloitte. Each business area involved its own case study that related to the workings of the department, and Partners and Directors were selected from the department itself to participate and make connections with participants.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was good and welcoming. The layout of the office and rooms showed that there was careful preparation and organisation of the programme, with the participants in mind. The Deloitte Partners and Directors we met were all very friendly and generous in sharing their insights and experiences.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Because it was only a two day event, there was not much scope for training and development. However, the knowledge and skills we gained would definitely be beneficial in the future. The insight had really helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company. They invited employees from different stages of their career. Having graduates there to share their experiences as well as partners and directors was very helpful when trying to see the whole picture of the working culture at Deloitte. The general atmosphere was very friendly, with a very people-oriented feel that seemed very welcoming and a potentially enjoyable place to work in.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight definitely helped to understand the company culture a lot more. It was great to be able to hear personal experiences and thoughts from Deloitte staff from different departments as well as career positions. A very well though out insight programme with the participants in mind. The insight had really helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company. • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The event was two-days only, but it did help to give some sort of insight into my future career path. However, it is still hard to judge from only two days. While the tasks given were well thought out and relevant to the department in focus, it seemed that the content had to be simplified a lot, understandably, to meet the time constraints. There was adequate opportunities to meet other employees. However, it was a very large ratio of employee to participant during these opportunities. We had a networking dinner as well, but again, the ratio was quite large such that it became quite difficult to sustain a full conversation or create any networks.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, through the different types of staff presenting, we got to find out that there were many social activities for employees outside of work. This was actually one of the attractive points about working at Deloitte, and it seemed to enhance the working environment where colleagues would bond outside of the office. The insight had really helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company. They invited employees from different stages of their career. • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight. Although it was short, it was jam packed with a lot of content, insight, and learning opportunities. The programme was well structured and organised as well, with plenty of support for students outside of where the programme occurred. Geographical location didn't pose a major problem because the company was able to reimburse for travel, as well as provide hotel accommodation. I would recommend this insight. There was adequate opportunities to meet other employees. However, it was a very large ratio of employee to participant during these opportunities. We had a networking dinner as well, but again, the ratio was quite large such that it became quite difficult to sustain a full conversation or create any networks.
