The Role
I really enjoyed the work placement as it allowed me to be exposed to work in the legal field, in a commercial in-house setting. I really enjoyed being an ASOS employees as we were able to have the same benefits as regular staff - sample sales and staff discounts!
I was not treated as an 'intern', but as if I was an ordinary full-time employee at ASOS.com, therefore making it a great practical learning experience!
My manager and I had daily catch-up meetings - this was either conducted in a casual manner or formally about my workload.
I always had something new to do and was always busy with tasks given!
I was given responsibility to do various tasks, including reporting to more senior members of the team about my work, whether it be research or an administrative duty. I was given sole responsibility of the process for online dispute resolution - all escalated complaints were forwarded to me and I would check my final responses with a member of the legal team.
The skills I gained at ASOS have assisted in my degree studies and for my future decisions, because it has given me an idea of what it is like to work in that particular field of law.
The Company
People are busy and working hard for the business, but at the same time, the environment is very casual, comfortable and friendly.
I feel that we needed more structure to the placement and more contact time with Human Resources Team for support.

Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would consider working for the ASOS Legal team again if the opportunity arises.
The Culture
There was hardly any socialising or contact time with other placement students at ASOS.
Being located in NW1, it was quite expensive to live and socialise in the area I worked in.
N/A
ASOS offered various opportunities to get involved in different activities.
