    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was my first opportunity to get the job I felt I really wanted and I was passionate about. It was a great start for my career and an incredible confidence boost. I was involved a big project from the very first weeks and that made me feel valued and appreciated.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was fortunate enough to start working with a person who had a lot of experience and had natural soft skills. This allowed me to learn quickly and feel that my work had an impact within a big project. Even though many pieces of work I had to carry out were of an administrative nature, I felt I was part of the Team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Unfortunately I didn't have a proper mentor from the very beginning, however I built very quickly relationships with great people who became mentors and buddies for me.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My internship was very project driven, therefore I had very busy periods and others that were less so. However being involved in a project outside of my business area helped me to feel engaged and busy during down times.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Although the work that I carried out was mainly administrative, the importance of the work that I was doing was explained to me most of the time, which helped me do my best.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was promoted to a permanent role straight away and I experimented concretely how much I had developed. Building relationships, speaking confidently, managing complex projects and resilience were the aspects that I noticed I had massively developed.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although sometimes going through very stressful and busy times, my colleagues were always approachable, courteous and helpful. The stressful situations affected me, but the support from my colleagues always helped me to get the best of any situation.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was well structured and the project set up outside of the department, as well as the exposure to senior managers, really set it apart. The day to day workload could have been managed better.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt free to enroll onto any internal training available, and my manager granted me the time to attend them. this allowed me to grow very quickly and work on my weaknesses.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Financial Bonus

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I still see my fellow interns, we have a great relationship. The journey we went through together really helped us to bond, and we still help each other at work.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Although living in London is expensive and can be stressful, the appropriate salary and the flexible work times helped me massively.
