  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Enjoyed a lot - there were a lot of placement students so I made a good network of friends which added to the enjoyment

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was treated as a normal member of staff and didn't feel any different because I was on a placement

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Lots of support - not only with work set by EDF Energy but also with university course work

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Always felt like I had enough work to do, knew what to do I had too much and knew what to do if I needed more work

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As before I was treated like a normal employee so had a lot of responsibility, was a very open organisation and I felt like I could have told my line manager if I wasn't coping wth the responsibility

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was asked regularly what I wanted to get involved in to benefit my degree studies so I could tailor it as much as I liked

  • Happy atmosphere, supportive colleagues and open inclusive environment

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Received a very good handover from placement student who was there before me

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I could receive as much onsite training as I desired. Additional training was also available if requested

  • Above 25 days holiday

  • I have an interview with this organisation next week

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good network of young employees with apprentices, graduates and placement students

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Varied prices around the area so I was able to chose how I wanted to live, unfortunately no public transport to workplace

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Close to Edinburgh and Newcastle - both good social scenes

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Many sections I had the oppprtunity to get involved in such as golf, theatre and fitness
