About You
I enjoyed the insight to a high extent. The week was fully packed and tasks were various. People there were all very friendly and ready to help. I talked to lots of employees from different areas and learned more about the firm and assurance. This is truly an unforgettable experience.
Although I was only doing a shadowing week, I felt that my input was valued and people who are on senior levels trusted me. They asked to assist with their work and offered to support me whenever I needed them. I could always find someone to talk to when I was in doubt.
I received a lot of guidance during this shadowing week. The female leader I shadowed with was very friendly and gave me instructions at every stage. Other colleague were also willing to share their experiences. I felt welcomed and valued during this week. And the work atmosphere was quite good.
I study accounting and finance, so obviously this assurance programme is of massive value to complement my study. I feel that I was very lucky to gain a position like this as most of the time what I learned from university is more of a textbook content. And this programme offers practical experiences.
The Company
The insight is well structured. I talked to employees from different sectors every day. Although I applied for assurance programme, I got the chance to learn about Tax and Deals as well. I also went to meet with a client on the final day which was definitely a fantastic experience.
The general atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. People like to smile and are willing to talk to you. For me the most enjoyable part of this insight week was the atmosphere. I like the office layout which is very open. There is also a Starbucks on the ground floor that sells great food.
The firm invested a great deal in me during this insight week. I shadowed with one of the female leaders inside the firm who was truly helpful. I could get help whenever I needed to and this ensured that I knew what to do at every stage. I learned a lot during this week.
This insight week is a great opportunity for those who are interested in a career within professional services. It gives you introduction to what you will be doing every day in the line of service you applied for. It could also lead to a full-time position with the firm if you perform well.
The insight week greatly helped me to understand PwC’s culture, which is very inclusive and values diversity. Everyone is unique within the firm and valued for their own capabilities and contributions. It is a great place to work for. Talking to the people inside is the best way to get to know what an organisation’s culture really is.
It is invaluable. There was no better way than physically getting involved with what you want to do in future. Wether it is an insight week, or an internship, it offers you an opportunity to see what the job is like on a daily basis. Also you can talk to people working in certain areas to learn about their opinions.
