  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The start of the project was slow but as the office started to get to know me I was entasked with more and more. By the end of the placement I was being called upon to do tasks and being treated more like an employee rather than a placement student.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The placement started of quite slow as i got to know it and the management got to know me, but once they knew what I was capable of I was able of, I was able to take on a lot of task and some days be really busy which was great

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was Given the opportunity to look after quite a lot of sections of a project, this gave me great opportunities to gain many skills ill no doubt be using for a long time and development further. Having responsibility made the placement so much more enjoyable and could have extended it further.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It is very organised with head office, lots of systems in place and activities that created a great placement. Lots to do develop yourself and also meet fellow students, which is great to discuss placement and learn from each other. Also had a group project which was a great addition to the placement.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think future employment prospects are great, they have lots of programmes for developing employee and helping them progress their career. As a placement student I had learning points to help me develop and meeting with line managers to see how we could check them off and progress them further.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment prospects I think are looking very promising, now due to do my third placement with them I hope this will continue employment till after university. Due to the many schemes and programmes they run I Look forward to working for them and the projects than I could potential work on

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a group project for the all the placement students with two big meetings of everyone, this enabling us to get to know each other and learn from each others experience of our time on site. It was all nice to development friendships with potential future collegues that could be very beneficial in the future.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were weekly football games amongst the workers and subcontractors, this was a great opportunity for people to get to know each other. Although i dint go myself it greatly improved the work environment as people developed bonds and spoke to each other instead of seeing each other as just a colleague.
