The Role
It was a pleasant experience to work at Infosys. I particularly enjoyed staying in the Bangalore campus, where I felt all my needs were catered for. There were foodcourts that sold at riduculously cheap prices, numerous sporting facilities and the weather was just amazing. I had the opportunity to discover all that was peculiar and fascinating about India.
I worked alongside my project mentor and a team-mate on the project. I felt that I was a key part of the team and that my opinions and perspectives had weight.
I had regular meetings to discuss progress and feedback. I felt that I could get help whenever I needed.
For the most part, I worked at a steady pace as long as I didn't have a deadline to meet.
I was put in complete charge of my project and was able to modify the scope as long as I provided justification.
The placement gave me international experience and the confidence in my ability to go to a new country and establish my self. The exposure I recieved from working with my supervisor, interacting with the other interns and learning about the company has helped to broaden my horizon and given me an insight into the corporate world.
The Company
My office was a cubicle which I shared with 3 other interns. When we weren't working, we had good chit-chat and enjoyed each other's company. We sometimes went out to lunch together.
It felt very well organized and set up. The induction session went a long way toward familiarising me with the company and Indian culture. There was a strong sense that the company had gone to a great extent to make sure that interns were well looked after and had only positive feedback.
There was ample opportunity to take part in training and development activities e.g. presenting, software skills, time management and so on.

It is a prestigious company.
The Culture
There was a good community spirit and friendly atmosphere among interns. However due to the fact that interns arrived in large groups at particular intervals during the year, it was inevitable that some cliques would start to form.
For an intern, particularly on campus, the cost of living was unreal. The stipend went a long way further than I would ever had anticipated. Some interns took advantage of this by having bespoke tailored suits made while I found myself dining out at quite a few high-end restaurants and living large.
I didn't have a lot of experience in this area but whenever I did go out, I always had a great time.
There were quite a few cultutal immersion activities and workshops to take part in. Outside I played quite a bit of basketball and ping-pong.
