The Role
Had a great time! Would definitely recommend to others interested in the digital space. Everything is progressive at ASOS which makes it all the more rewarding when your work has an actual impact, rather than being given 'intern' work.
Got along quite well the team
Had a one-to-one mentor who met with me weekly- did not expect this level of support! Arguably one of the best parts of the internship.
Always had a task to complete
I never felt like I was given 'intern' work and had the chance to speak to project managers and stakeholders around the business
Members of the team took the time out for one-to-one sessions in coding which I'm definitely using as part of my degree. Would have been great if I were given a crash course in advanced Excel in week one just to speed things up since a lot of the internship was on the job learning.
The Company
Busy, a lot of collaborative work going on
Application was straightforward, as was the induction.
A lot of soft skills training was provided which I appreciated but would have probably benefited more from advanced Excel sessions, run with computers rather than in a lecture format
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
There wasn't a grad scheme set up for the department I was interning at
The Culture
Didn't really get a chance to meet the rest of the interns since most were there for a year and in a different department
London- pretty self-explanatory
See above
Company charity rounders match, fitness classes etc were available
