    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placements provides me valuable insight into the industry in quite an enjoyable way- great learning experience and opportunities for personal development in a well-balanced work atmosphere. It is great to see yourself improving and growing on a daily basis while being supported by the people who you work with!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone in the company is really approachable. I can easily raise my voice and express my opinion and I know they would value it and take it into account. You just feel like an integral part of the company and all the activities you are involved in. Additionally, our first month was full of different social events that noticeably helped us feel comfortable as a part of the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I am involved in a lot of exciting projects which, of course, make me responsible for the overall outcome. However, I like the fact that I can always seek advice from my managers and they have proved to be quite approachable and eager to help me learn and improve on a daily basis.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I would say that I am overall quite busy, but it definitely depends on the way you organize your day. I can now say that I have substantially improved my time management especially when it comes to prioritizing my tasks. Week after week I can see that I have managed to complete more on a daily basis.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The responsibility I am given during the placement really motivates me to improve my performance day by day. My managers provide me with the opportunity to attend meetings with various agencies and departments along with the chance to take part in discussions and presentations to share my point of view.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We have all heard about the benefits of undertaking a placement year but only when I started at RCI did I realize how much I would learn on a daily basis. My mindset has definitely altered and I can now say that I can put the knowledge gained from my studies to practical experience.

    The Company

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I would say that now it depends to a great extent on my personal organization when it comes to the tasks and the performance. However, the overall placement set up is on a really high level in my point of view, with responsibilities gradually increasing to make you feel as comfortable as possible in the process of learning.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • RCI is a company worth working for and I would definitely find it really valuable experience if I get the chance to come back, despite the fact that there is not currently a graduate scheme available. However, the employment prospects are generally improved with this placement as you feel yourself growing and becoming more progressing.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The other interns are quite friendly and approachable, too. Along with taking part in the company's events we have managed to meet outside the office- be it for a meal or the bar that has quite a convenient location for everyone. Lunches are also a great time to get to know each other better every day.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I live quite close to the office and it does not take me long to get to work. Watford also has perfect transport connection with London even if you have to commute more. The cost of living is also bearable, again it depends on the type of accommodation and the exact location.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are a few nightclubs in the town, however, the other interns and I mostly go to the bar that is located close to the office. I would say that the town provides quite good ways to socialize but when it comes to the nightlife I do not have substantial experience and cannot compare it.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Definitely, there are organized different company/ staff parties and events. For example, we are going to have a Marketing department team building day in London which is a great way to spend time with the colleagues in a nice atmosphere outside the office while getting to know each other better.
