The Role
I thouroughly enjoyed my placement. I was offered many opportunities and supported throughout.
Extremely. I had alot of support and praise for everything I undertook.
My manager was extremely supportive and allowed me to seek as many opportunites as possible. My manager always encouraged me to make the most of my placement. I had regular meetings with my manager to discuss further development and progression.
I had time periods where I was extremely busy but then also time periods where i wasn't so busy. The time periods when i wasn't so busy I was given the opportunity to freely find out how to improve and develop skills I wanted to.
I was given the right amount. Enought to keep busy and feel valued and worthy of having a role there but also enough to be able to actively seek other opportunities for development.
I have learnt and developed many skills since being on placement. The training I received has been invaluable, especially in learning more about agile project management and design thinking. I learnt so much!
The Company
Very busy, quiet at times, more of an atmosphere at other times. Good team work amongst teams. Generally just normal office type environment.
I beleive it was very well organised. Reviews every 3 months definietly gave it more structure and encouraged me to meet my objectives and develop. Good insight into future opportunities and how to get on to their graduate scheme from being an intern.
I was fortunate to travel internationally on my placement, I went from Portsmouth to London, to Greenock (Scotland) to Dublin, to Madrid. This gave me amazing opportunites to develop, learn and have an impact on IBM. They were very willing to support me and invest in me.

Extremely appealing!
The Culture
Yes a very good social scene. there were around 60/70 pleacement students at the location I was at and we all lived together and socialised together on a regular basis.
Very moderate. not too expensive for rent. socialising was usually quite cheap/average, especially compared to london for example
The nightlife was good, not great but there were lots of students around and placement students to soclaise with so that made it better.
Yes there were lots. Different sports, gym, clubs.
