  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The people really made this placement, colleagues were welcoming, friendly and always willing to help you out.

  • My team were great, they appreciated everything that I did and got involved in during my time at Sony.

  • My manager and colleagues were so supportive, there was never a question I couldn't ask and my opinion was always valued even though my manager was in another country.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Work load varied, depending on the general business activities at that time. However, there is always something to get involved in if you put yourself forward.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Due to the great relationship I had with my manager, I was given more responsibility as the year went on and ran several of my own projects across a European scale.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Whether you enjoy your placement or not (I definitely did), you will learn a lot. One of the most important skills that I developed were my interpersonal skills, as I communicated with people from different cultures, across different countries every single day.

  • Everyone in the office is really friendly and supportive. However, due to the nature of the organisation, it is a typical business environment.

  • My manager put a lot of time aside to show me vital Marketing Communications practices and skills.

  • I have kept in touch with many great colleagues and it would be great to work with them again at some point in the future.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I made some great friends on placement. We made an effort between ourselves and other colleagues to get together a few times a week, which is great if you've moved far for the job.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living in the area was expensive compared to what I was used to, especially as it is not too far from London.

  • There are a few bars and one club.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Sometimes colleagues across the office will head to the pub after work, and I believe there was a social club.
