The Role
After underachieving in my second year and making me feel down about my course. This summer internship picked me back up and made me realise this is the career for me.
They treated me like any other person in the office. They respected me and listened to me and my ideas.
Despite how busy they were, they still made time every day to speak to me and guide me though the project I was working on.
Most of the time I was at Gensler I was always busy with my work. There were a few days within the weeks that I was less busy but this gave me more time to research the company.
I was able to participate in client meetings where I was able to express my ideas on the project.
Being able to see how Gensler Architects worked on real-life projects was extremely beneficial. I will be able to use the skills I learnt at Gensler in my final year of Architecture which will hopefully help me hit those higher grades.
The Company
Fun. There was always a friendly buzz around the office!
Very organised. The process of my Internship application was very professional and well formulated.
The people they take in for Internships are the people they look to employ in the future therefore we were well nurtured through the Internship.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Opportunity to join them for my work placement year.
The Culture
Yes! We would all go for a few drinks on a friday to socialise and get to know everyone in the office.
Not cheap at all but what do you expect from central London.
Good but again not cheap.
Definitely. So much to do but I would feel tired after my journey home so I didn't get to spend much time doing activities after work.
