The Role
Immediately integrated into a team and project. Given training, access to meetings and external visits to help improve my knowledge.
People would consider me even if it was something trivial for them they would ask if I had seen/done it before and try to include me as much as possible.
Monthly meetings to complete sign offs for university work as well as allowing me to discuss and ask for anything I required.
I became busier as I interacted with more and more people through the project I was working on.
I was given tasks that helped understanding which built up to a decent level and was given more when I asked after I felt I had proven that I was up to the challenge.
After returning to University, It was immediately apparent that I could now apply lectures to my own experience granting me clarity on the importance of what was being said. On top of that, confidence and knowledge of how a company runs have both been extremely helpful to me.
The Company
Clam, relaxed with interesting discussion.
I was helped by another company within the group which I had a 6 week placement for, which helped a lot in finding the right people I needed to speak to.
Everything that was available for full-time staff was also available for me. I was given professional CAD training alongside other training and external visits.
Above 25 days holiday
The grad scheme is appealing to me as it allows the experience of multiple job roles before you decide which you would prefer to work in.
The Culture
Yes, people were friendly and were part of activities outside of work.
Good, pretty standard to what I was used to.
Without a bit of travel, the nightlife was good.
Yes, if you want to do something, you can find somewhere to do it but you've got to sort it out yourself!
