    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great people that made me feel welcomed at all times, friendly environment offering many opportunities to enhance your social and professional life.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were great to me from day one allowing time to get to know each other, go out, as well as effectively work together.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisor was really helpful throughout my internship giving me the right tasks and giving me the chance to be involved into parts of the project I was also interested in. Management was also there to answer all my questions and provide all the feedback I requested.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • With the exception of a few days close to deadlines where I was very busy, I can say for the most of the days I was average busy in the healthy side of the balance.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Even though I was there for a limited three months time, I was introduced to live projects since week one. I am glad I spent my learning curve having a spot within the team assisting in delivery, rather than sitting behind books and manuals for the most of it.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Working with a strongly integrated MEP team I was able to enhance my communication skills and expand my technical knowledge. Also, the background knowledge gained is definitely helpful in better understanding how building environments work and operate and where I would be sitting in this chain of operations as an Electronics and Electrical Engineer.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great office culture where people talk, laugh and take lunch together.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organised and precise to the detail when it came to prepare me and point to the right directions.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • With limited time there was no external placements or training to attend but in my understanding an internship itself can be considered as an investment from both sides.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The company has now offices on all the seven continents providing services in a range of sectors. This is appealing to me for future employment for the opportunities and the potential to find the right spot for me, geographically and professionally, from a career perspective.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a very good social scene in general.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Bath where I was placed is known to be fairly expensive but all within reason, depending on your likes and habits.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Fairly decent, with Bristol being a 10 minute train ride away.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes there were almost daily activities, like sports activities during lunch break or after work hours, regular visits to the local pubs and bigger social events combing the above.

    4/5
