The Role
Kept me occupied with a range of tasks and exposure to a range of tools and utilities.
The team made me feel valued and that my role was usefull, the inclusion of a project which was actually put into use helped accentuate this.
Help was given when required and all questions I asked were well explained
Work rate was solid, if a little quiet at times - however this allowed me time for work on my project so I never felt overwhelmed
All tasks undertaken were min, but help was given when asked. I had support and freedom from all members of the team.
Many of the 'soft skills' and insight into a business I gained at Egger were incredibly valuable, I have taken away a lot in terms of interacting in a professional environment as well as having developed my problem solving skills. However, in terms of degree progression the placement hasn't helped me TOO much - this is through no fault of Egger's, simply my placement was not entirely related to the content of my degree, though I was aware of this throughout the application and interview process.
The Company
Fantastic atmosphere, easy going and pleasant work environment.
Some issues with gaining permissions from head office, but otherwise well managed and structured where applicable.
Not much was given in terms of formal training, but I was formally induced in to the company and given appropriate tours and information. I was treat like a full employee which was definitely a positive.
Subsidised Canteen
Solid employment options, had I chosen a different carreer path I would certainly consider emplyoment with Egger.
The Culture
Work nights out and lunches were nice, other events fell outside the scope of my placement but would have been nice to attend.
I'm from the area so it seemeed reasonable to me.
Home-town nightlife, good only for the people.
Offered to engage in sports
