    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was enjoyable, rarely did I wake up in the morning dreading going to work. The days went extremely quickly and at times, there were very rewarding moments.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone in the company has started at the level that you are at. This means that everyone in the company appreciates your role within the company.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • You have direct contact with your line manager throughout the day, this means that at any point you are able to ask questions. Management more senior to your Branch Manager is rather difficult to get through to.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Extremely busy. There was not a moment during the placement where I was not on my feet or with a customer/colleague.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • From the first day, you have a large amount of responsibility. You tend to shadow for a few days but will then be thrown in to the deep end.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The placement was not relevant to my degree as such, but the skills that I have gained will be very useful for any future careers or job roles.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • With a focus on customer service, there is a fantastic atmosphere within the office. However, with staff changes regularly occurring, it was often difficult for a team to gel.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There is no doubt that this is a fantastically organised placement, with the trainers and talent acquisition managers being incredibly focused on your development. At training sessions, they will always know your name and be genuinely interested on how you are getting on.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The various training sessions were extremely helpful for me, and I felt that the company were investing a lot in to my own development.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Car

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The graduate scheme is very attractive for many. The summer placement perfectly compliments those who are graduating. If one were to join the company following a summer placement, there would be a seamless transition.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were networking events and area nights out. These provided good opportunities to meet those outside of the branch.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As standard, the cost of living was fairly high in the South-East.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • We did not have much opportunity to experience the Slough nightlife.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were not many opportunities outside of work.

    2/5
