The Role
At first I found it challenging since I was not given specific work from my manager, however this allowed me to explore the entire company and learn a lot, as well as find work in areas which really interested me.
The work I found for myself to do received high praise, although my manager was not aware of what I had achieved on this until my final review.
My manager was very busy and had no specific plan for my internship
This varied a lot, but got better further on in the placement. It is a good experience for an intern to have to find work but it was frustrating at times. I never felt overworked, and things were, as expected, busier around specific deadlines and events.
Most of the work was not critical to the business but was looking into improvements/enhancements.
The work I found for myself is in the area I want to pursue a career in and was highly valuable experience for me.
The Company
Everybody was friendly, but there was not very much socialising outside of the office.
On the whole it was set up well, but from my personal experience I was not placed into the team which I would be able to get the most benefit from. There were weekly learning at lunch sessions which were fantastic and an opportunity to shadow in other departments.
I received a high level of support from the individuals I reached out to, but you have to seek these things. The support from the grads was exceptionally good.

I'm currently waiting to hear! The work life balance at the fca wouldn't be possible at any of the equivalents, but this impacts on the salary, so depends on what you're looking for really.
The Culture
We all ate lunch together and organised drinks etc.
Canary wharf.
Bars are good, not interested in clubbing myself but there is the whole of London if desired.
