    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my role, my team, and the work culture. It could only have been better if I was in a specialist team for PR and Social Media (what I was doing for the Sports Team). There were no experts to learn from on my team so I had to teach myself a lot.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued but I was aware of how temporary I was there. I feel this was reflected in the slightly limited time my co-workers would spend helping me.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a weekly 1 to 1 and an internship plan document to follow. That was all really!

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was always busy in a good way. It is what you make it. If my manager didn't have enough work for me I would offer to help others with their projects.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had autonomy in the role I was doing but I would've liked to have been brought into more strategic planning as my internship progressed.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was proactive in my learning, so the skills I acquired will help me a lot.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A good mix of focussed and sociable.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised with optional workshops in CV writing, LinkedIn, and Presentation Skills for all interns to partake in.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • See above

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Fairly appealing, but I would like to experience working for a smaller organisation.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Amongst interns, yes. Colleagues, not so much.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Well... it's Islington so you do the maths.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are lots of nice bars around Angel and you're not far from the rest of Central London.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of charity events to volunteer at! They're always fun.

    5/5
