    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Was broadly enjoyeable. Staff, including senior staff, were very friendly and approachable. The work was interesting and intellectual stimulating. Fellow interns were a fun bunch who it was easy to get on with.

  • Fairly valued. They took input on board and there was scope to infleunce outcomes

  • My management took a fairly hands off approach but that's how I prefer to work. Never felt that I couldn't ask for help when I needed it

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Highly variable. Some days there was lots, others there was barely anything to do. In general I could have done with more work

  • Fairly large amount

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Gained a huge amount of technical knowledge. Knoweldge about the FCA will be useful in applying to the graduate scheme

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Relaxed and friendly, but very smart people. People would oftne just walk up to someone's desk and ask for help/advice on whatever they were working. Lots of free food!

  • Allocation of interns into their specific placements seemed odd and not very well thought through. Was also issues with organising pay

  • Met up for lunch every day and went out for drinks occasionaly

  • It's Canary Wharf in London so.......
