The Role
Could have done with more team interaction, didn't feel like real employment
I felt valued at the end, however due to the lack of team interaction I didn't feel like I was that valued throughout the internship.
Support when I asked for it, however could have been more proactive in ensuring that I was doing ok
Because of the lack of team interaction, and the lack of reviews there were times when I was either really busy or I had nothing to do, which meant that I didn't really have a smooth or constant workload
Not really any responsibility as the project I was working on was an individual one, hence I didn't feel it had a bearing on the company really.
I gained lots of skills I think, but a lot of that was down to the interaction with other interns, being in another country and traveling around, I don't think that it was due to the work I was involved in.
The Company
There wasn't really much of an atmosphere in the office at all. Very little interaction with anyone but interns, and I was sitting to far away from them to be interacting with them that much
Didn't really feel like I was an employee, more like I was a university student working on a project in a work setting.
Had a lot of seminars and such available for personal development, heavily geared towards the technical side though.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
I didn't really feel like a real employee and I did not like the company culture at all.
The Culture
Great mix of really fun people from around the world,
Really inexpensive
We lived on campus pretty far away from the city, so whilst the nightlife was good (except for the gender imbalance) it took far too long to get there and closed far too early (11:30pm)
Great travelling experiences with other interns
