    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Could have done with more team interaction, didn't feel like real employment

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued at the end, however due to the lack of team interaction I didn't feel like I was that valued throughout the internship.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support when I asked for it, however could have been more proactive in ensuring that I was doing ok

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Because of the lack of team interaction, and the lack of reviews there were times when I was either really busy or I had nothing to do, which meant that I didn't really have a smooth or constant workload

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not really any responsibility as the project I was working on was an individual one, hence I didn't feel it had a bearing on the company really.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I gained lots of skills I think, but a lot of that was down to the interaction with other interns, being in another country and traveling around, I don't think that it was due to the work I was involved in.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There wasn't really much of an atmosphere in the office at all. Very little interaction with anyone but interns, and I was sitting to far away from them to be interacting with them that much

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Didn't really feel like I was an employee, more like I was a university student working on a project in a work setting.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Had a lot of seminars and such available for personal development, heavily geared towards the technical side though.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I didn't really feel like a real employee and I did not like the company culture at all.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Great mix of really fun people from around the world,

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Really inexpensive

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • We lived on campus pretty far away from the city, so whilst the nightlife was good (except for the gender imbalance) it took far too long to get there and closed far too early (11:30pm)

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Great travelling experiences with other interns

    5/5
