    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was very well structured with activities to meet other interns and other teams

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Colleagues are very appreciative of the work interns complete and encouraged us to take initiatives

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Supervisors provided frequent feedback, both positive and negative, to help improve. They were also very available for further explanations and guidance whenever asked.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There tend to be many activities organised for interns on top of the daily job so the day can get very busy.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • In markets, interns are given very little responsibility, primarily due to the nature of the job that requires certifications or approvals. We mainly focus on ad-hoc projects or purely intern projects.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Sitting with full time employees helped me better understand how theoretical financial concepts learnt at school are actually applied in the daily job and how it shapes the way of thinking.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everybody was very nice to me, very approachable. Jokes are going around and the atmosphere is quite chill but there is not much happening outside the work with interns.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, HR take care of everything from A to Z, we even have a special app to track our agendas.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The largest investment is probably the time that people spend with you explaining basic things on a daily basis: more of a on-the-job training.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It would be difficult to tell due to Brexit, offers will be made by beginning/mid September.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The trading game where we are put in random teams helped interns bond with each other.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Costs are manageable because salaries are relatively higher in banking than in other industries but London is a very expensive city.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife is great - only among interns, no night out with the teams - but expensive.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We had a one-day event outside of the office and drinks at the end of the internship.

    3/5
