    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the working environment, supportive attitude, the values, the wide range of training and variety of techniques that I was trusted to use. However, it was very stressful at times.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel that I was trusted to take on a lot of work and analyse the data appropriately.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed within AstraZeneca's analytical department have given me the confidence and independence that I lacked coming into my placement. As well as this I now have a great technical and practical understanding of most common and some uncommon techniques of chemical analysis.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very supporting, positive and understanding.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My student project was relatively unspecific and took longer than anticipated to find achievable goals and data sets to use. This meant that I started project work later than most others. All work completed outside of my student project was well organised and explained.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • A large amount of time was spent training and educating. The company encouraged me to experience job types outside of my own, my team and my department. ever staff member that I encountered were willing to take time out of their day to help me when I needed it.
