The Role
I was offered various learning and development opportunities while I am in the bank. Beside that, there are also many networking and social events that helps you to quickly adapt to the environment. Overall I am really satisfied of my experience and glad I have applied this internship.
I was given real responsibility from day one and I have received enormous help from my teammates, buddy and mentors. They see me as an actual employee instead of a summer intern.
My manager set up my objectives from day one and I receive regular feedback and guidance.
I need to work on my own project, a group project as well as attending training sessions and other events. Normally I am fairly busy and occasionally need to work over time.
The projects are have potential to reduce cost and relatively easier to do. But because the large scale of the firm I sometimes hard to see the contribution towards the big picture.
Definitely the presentation skills and programming skills. In university you won't expect to deliver presentation on daily or weekly basis, but be able to presenting effectively is essential here. And the projects we carried out are have tight deadlines and you need to be really proficient on coding and deliver the product on time.
The Company
Collaborative and friendly.
The scheme is well organized. We have orientation week, training sessions, networking events, social dinners as well as many other events. We have been informed the general agenda at beginning and for other sessions we are also informed in advanced.
I can see a lot investment ranging from technical aspect to corporate aspect.
Working from home
Definitely worth to come back.
The Culture
Most other interns are smart and working hard.
Cost on food are really cheap and summer is fantastic.
Average.
We have volunteering event which last one day.
