The Role
It was great. There's a tonne of opportunity if you're willing to grab it and everybody is exceptionally kind and willing to give their time.
I hear almost every day that my work is valuable to the team and that I'm making a real contribution to their success.
Regularly scheduled catch ups with my leaders, but seeing as it's all very open plan here and all of my team is within 4 steps of my desk, if I raise my voice they can hear me. Amazing contact with leadership, Even my VP will come over for a chat.
Fluctuates depending on how often you put your hand up. I seek out work, so I've been inundated. Very occasionally I've been stick for something to do, but that's been because I'm waiting for someone to come back to me rather than literally not having anything to do.
I've been in charge of an application they're GOT to use next week. I've been given loads of responsibility, but at the same time there's a blameless culture - I know that if it goes wrong, the team will support me and the project
This placement has made me change my mind about which modules to study in my third year and has given me an idea for my final year project. Everything I've learnt has been relevant.
The Company
Collaborative and kind
Incredibly well organised. Not a prescriptive program, they adapt the program to what that intake of interns are interested in.
Been offered tonnes of support if I come back, plus given loads of things to check out and research, Main thing they've invested though is time, they've spent so much time with me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Very appealing
The Culture
All out together at least once a week, though often more like living out of each other's pockets
Brighton's expensive
Pretty good, every night of the week
You literally can't take part in everything - there's too much
