  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • really challenging, great opportunities

  • worked in a really supportive team, my manager and team were really helpful and approachable

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • a lot - they encourage you to be proactive, but yet are still there for support and guidance when you need.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • we were told on the first day that this internship is what you make it - so if i found myself not busy, i'd go and ask for more work from the rest of the team.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • initially they trained me up on their BAU tasks, but as i continuted to prove myself, they gave me more responsibility until i was revenutally running a whole trading process.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • i've learnt a lot of technical things, that I will be able to apply them to my course

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very good moments with very funny people, but again it varies with the people who you have to work with, and different personalities.

  • Well organised in terms of how well the job was defined, but some problems in organising joint intern events

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • we had a few days of induction, and then on the job training. there isn't a huge amount on the internship, they tend to invest more in your training once you're on the graduate programme.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • really appealling - the grad programme is rotational for my area and gives a great opportunity to experience different types of roles that i could end up doing in my career

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • yes definitely - the grad team arranged lots of events, and we often went out every Friday as well.

  • Pretty expensive - but then living alone

  • often went out every Friday pretty expensive

  • yes, both formally arranged as part of the programme and also with my team and with the other interns.
