  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I really enjoyed my time at Detica. I met some great people while I worked there and thoroughly enjoyed the tasks I was set.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I definitely felt valued by my colleagues. I was worried I would just be considered a "lowly intern" and be made to make coffee, but instead I was treated as a real member of the team.

    • The support and guidance I was given was really good. Lots of time was put aside to ensure I was happy with what I was working on

    • Pretty busy, there was always something to do and even when there wasn't, it was easy to find more stuff to do!

    • Lots of responsibility was allocated to me, I definitely felt like my work was being valued by the team and would be used in interesting ways.

    • The programming and software development skills I learnt while at Detica will definitely be useful for degree studies and beyond.

    • Fun environment, lots of chat.

    • I had buddies and a mentor assigned to me who helped with every aspect of the internship.

    • Detica really invested in my development through training courses and time people donated to supporting me.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Yep, there were lots of social activities organised and I really enjoyed spending time with the other interns.

    • Pretty normal prices.

    • We didn't really go out that much where we were based.
