The Role
Really enjoyed it, after the first few weeks I had loads to do with my team and individually.
I had work to do which I could see would benefit them, so that was great and they made it clear they were pleased to have me.
I have my own line manager who is there with me 3/4 days per week then a sponsor and other people that I could easily go to if I needed anything
It was a great balance of enough work to do but with time to network and always leaving on time!
Quite a lot, was definitely given things to do which were real jobs and if I wasn't there someone else would have done them. I was contributing towards projects which the company was going to use and projects which were being rolled out!
I had a full development day, induction courses and optional masterclasses throughout, these covered everything from confidence, presentational skills and decision making to networking, knowing the business and leadership skills
The Company
So relaxed, informal dress, flexi hours, people work from home and hot desk. It allows you to meet other people, move freely and from week 3 I was working from home 1 day a week
Was well organised, I think I could have been sent more information about what I was going to be doing prior to starting, but generally everything was great!
Full days were organised where training took place, there was a real emphasis on coming back if we wanted to and having the flexibility to do what we wanted to with coming back e.g. which area, how many rotations etc.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I am wanting to come back on the grad scheme, so will get fast tracked hopefully to this point at the end of my internship
The Culture
Was hard as everyone lives in different places, but when we were doing things together it was really good.
Expensive, I was lucky as I stayed with relatives, but others who rented found it very expensive
Didn't really go out too much, but I know people went to London as well as bars near work.
There is an early careers society so this involves sports, pay day activities and other things too.
