The Role
Very much. the work was incredibly varied and a great insight into the world of retail
I was always being asked to do things that had a good level of responsibility attached
Lots of Support, Even when my manager was away I was developed by another manager. Nothing was ever too much and i was encouraged to engage in training that would help in areas that weren't just at Tesco, as well as developing some Tesco-specific skills
Some times the work dried up and i was left looking for something to do but this was never for very long.
i was responsible for the regular reporting and insight suggestions as well as my manager
Lots of skills developed and loads of opportunities to get further training in areas that I was weakest in.
The Company
Really fun, lots of people around most of the time and relaxed leading to a very comfortable work environment
Very well organised with a director sponsor and regular catch ups and development days. nothing less than you would expect from the biggest retailer in the UK.
Lots, I attended courses that were tesco specific and some in more general leadership and development areas. some of the courses i attended worth in excess of £500
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Very, lots of interns develop onto the graduate scheme. all grads and interns clearly loving it.
The Culture
yep, Early Careers society organised events and socials as well as socialising with my colleagues at meals and days out.
Pretty standard, probably slightly higher than
good but i dont go out very much
Yep, sports and socialising
