The Role
I really enjoyed my work placement, at first it was quite challenging but I had a very welcoming team and my business manager was invested in helping me achieve my goals.
I felt really valued by my colleagues who were very welcoming and eager to encourage me to be part of the team, they always helped if there was something I wasn't sure of.
My manager was on board with my training from the day I got there, she had designed a monthly training plan and held regular meetings with me to ensure I was meeting my targets. She always encouraged me and gave me great advice.
I was busy on a daily basis as my placement was based in a busy shop in the city centre however it helped me to learn quickly as I had to keep up to pace with customer demand.
During my placement I was given a lot of responsibility, as soon as I had learned the basics I was put into my trainee manager uniform and had to act as a manager, it was challenging but very rewarding.
I have learned varies skills during my placement and I have even gained a first aid qualification, beyond that during my placement year I learned a lot about myself and my confidence grew a lot. I will always value my time at McDonald's as I have learned a lot which I can take on further in my career.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere, it was a very busy shop however everyone worked together as a big team and the majority of the time there would be jokes and laughter.
It was very well organised, my manager had a plan for my training on a daily basis and she ensured that it was stuck to. I also attended my management course a month ahead of schedule.
The firm invested a lot in me in personal development, I attended at least 5 courses in my time and even gained a first aid qualification. I felt very valued by the company.

Future employment prospects are very appealing, not only does the company offer great benefits and salary but the job itself is very rewarding and McDonald's invest a lot in personal development and training for their staff.
The Culture
The social scene within the workplace is one of the best I have ever experienced and I have made friends for life.
Very cheap.
The nightlife was great as it was right in the city centre, McDonald's arrange a lot of social events and nights out for their staff so it was great fun.
There were loads of activities from nights out to volunteering, you felt part of the team from very early on and there was always something to do.
