The Role
This was a fantastic internship that gave me a huge amount of experience and knowledge.
I felt that my team massively appreciated the work I was doing because it made their lives easier and helped to relieve some of the pressures they faced day-to-day.
My supervisor was exceptional. She supported me where she needed to and allowed me to get on with my own work. I was trusted to get on with my job but was also offered an open door for questions.
I worked in a very busy team which often meant working overtime to complete my workload. That being said, all of the work was rewarding and I did not mind staying behind to finish.
I covered the responsibilities of another team member when they went on annual leave and believe I was trusted like any full time employee.
My knowledge of in-house legal departments has increased inordinately. I believe this will be invaluable when applying for jobs and training contracts.
The Company
The office was jovial and enjoyable and was rarely stuffy or awkward. Everyone was happy to speak to eachother and to have a laugh and equally, knew when to put their heads own and work.
I felt that Enterprise had carefully planned my induction and the internship evolved from there. I was never without things to do.
I was allowed time to work on applications for Training Contracts and my supervisor supported me in preparing the applications. Further, I was encouraged to attend networking events with law firms and to listen to webinars to increase my understanding of areas of law.
Enterprise would be a fantastic company to work for and I know that my supervisor is keen for me to stay in the business. I am still keen to pursue a Training Contract in private practice if possible but I would definitely consider a role here in the interim.
The Culture
There was only one other intern with me and we didn't see each other very often. When we did, it was enjoyable.
Surrey is generally a pretty expensive area but Egham pretty reasonable.
Egham has little to no nightlife.
Numerous - from volunteering to attending networking events.
