The Role
Had a fantastic year - met some great people and learnt a great deal
There's a tremendous culture at Warner Bros. in getting everyone involved from day one. You are given autonomy from the start with how you approach and manage time and projects. There is a hugely diverse pool of talent and colleagues so you're bound to get along with someone if not everyone.
Management were great at maintaining transparency in all facets of working life, never once felt I couldn't ask questions I had relating to work or talk to them about an issue.
Workloads varied MoM and WoW with some periods being really busy and at other times an average level. In short, I didn't find myself short of work to do.
I was given a fair amount of responsibility in every aspect of my role.
In terms of skills related to a degree I would say developing a stronger understanding of Financial Analysis through daily use of platforms such as Excel has been huge for me this year.
The Company
Everyone gets down to work - but in general a really friendly and approachable atmosphere with a huge emphasis on team-work
Very well organised - HR, Corporate Communications and all other departments we amazing at keeping everyone well informed across both work, leisure and safety matters. Any queries you had were always politely and promptly replied to by someone. All interns were well looked after from the outset and I was never left feeling as though I wasn't aware of something or not given the opportunity to get involved.
Warner Bros. Learning & Development department was something that stood out for me. I attended a number of Intern classes that help you to understand & develop your ability as young professional, colleague and person in general. From sessions on interpersonal skills to psychometric testing, I thought all sessions were extremely interesting and a great way to meet new people across the business.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very appealing - the company is constantly innovating to keep themselves ahead of the curve across all divisions, so whilst I don't know for certain, I feel as though where ever you are placed in the world of WB; you are working on business critical projects that deliver real value within a market leader in Entertainment & Film.
The Culture
Yes - Facebook groups are set-up early doors to organise the transition in-to intern life, events put on to network socially and professionally and fun encouraged where possible.
I lived at home so cheap as chips!
Again - lived at home but have been out in a number of areas in London, there's definitely no shortage of choice.
Yes loads - RAG and other forms of fundraising, premieres, private screenings, sporting teams, fantasy sports leagues, the lot.
