    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have absolutely loved my internship at Microsoft. No two days are the same and the people I have met have helped to shape my career.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At Microsoft you are not thought of as an different to your colleagues and I have been given the same responsibility in work as full time colleagues, as well as been recognised for the hard work I have done through the year.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Although I have changed managers through my internship as my manager has gone on maternity leave, I have really enjoyed being managed by two different people with very different approaches. Both have been so helpful and the community here also lets you feel like a student with a full time job!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • They days fly by! No two days are the same for me, and I have been fortunate to be given a lot of variance in my role. I can honestly say I have never once looked at my watch and wanted the day to end... apart from the odd Friday after a Thursday night out with my team!

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I am in change of reporting for a full Line of Business. This is really important, and I feel honoured to be given this amount of responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have had so many training opportunities. from shadowing, MOS Exam Certifications, training days and a variation of tasks, and I know I will perform better at university having these qualities.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although working in an EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) team means my team are away a lot, the intern and manager community is so strong there is always someone around, with lots of events happening every week at the HQ in Reading.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I loved the Welcome Day, meeting and getting to know the interns before deciding who to live with was important, as well a the Mid Year review and the End of Year event!
