    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have learnt that the role I have worked in is not the career that I wish to pursue in the future, which impacts my answer on how I enjoyed my placement as I did not really enjoy my role. The intern community has been the best part of my internship - I have met so many lovely people and been on some great socials organised by L'oreal.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A lot of stigma related to being an intern and I feel that this impacted my experience at L'Oreal the most.

    2/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • With a lot of team changes during my placement I spent a lot of time without a proper manager. I have had three different managers during my year here.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Always have a lot of projects to work on, so there is rarely a quiet day at L'Oreal.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given a lot of responsibility from day one -definitely thrown in at the deep end but it has meant that I've learnt a lot during my placement and it has definitely been a valuable experience.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have definitely learn a lot during my placement at L'Oreal. It has been good to put what I have learnt on my course into practice and doing this work placement will definitely help me in my final year at University.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone is always busy!! However, there are always lots of team event arranged so its not always about work all the time.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Extremely well! HR are always there if you need any support or guidance & there are multiple training modules such as public speaking and managing priorities which are arranged to help you build on your skills whilst at L'Oreal. I have been the three lunch & learns where someone within the company speaks to the interns about their role, how they got there and any advice to interns for their future careers. These have been really insightful.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • same as answer before -HR training for interns was really helpful

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • What is so great about L'Oreal is that there are so many different brands and so every job role can really vary. Although I would not want to work in the brand/division I have done my placement in, I would definitely try working in a different brand within the company.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was always a really good social scene which was one of the main highlights of my placement. Free intern events were always arranged where we could go to clubs in London, entry for free and free drinkS!! I've met so many people, and made lots of friends here.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Pretty expensive, but It's London!! Nothing really too expensive, and always worth it. Living in London has been a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
