    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Words can't describe how much I'm going to miss working for Warner Brothers. Everything, from the team dynamic, to the work I produced, to all the fantastic perks are going to be missed massively. Honesty - best year of my life.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • You're so important to your team at Warner Bros, because the games team is extremely small. You're heavily relied upon and expected to deliver on time and to the best of your ability. Don't walk into this placement expecting it to be easy - and people will respect and value you!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • It was a difficult year as I had two separate supervisors with completely contrasting management skills. However, this works in your favour as you get more of an experience to carry forward with you in the future.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As mentioned, this team is a small one so you will be given a great deal of work to complete. But don't worry - people will always be in the wings to support you if need be!

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for creating a large amount of the things we release, along with dealing with important WB partners. You're given a lot of responsibility and meet a lot of important people!

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I do a degree in Geography, yet got this placement for Marketing and PR in Games. Don't be worried about applying for this placement if you haven't got a degree in Marketing/PR as you can still thrive and pick up a load of great skills for the future. Whilst this doesn't particularly help my degree - it's help me chose a field I can definitely see myself working in for the future.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • This is completely dependant on how busy we are. When we're a bit more flexible - we have a good laugh, do lots of team related fun activities and occasionally sit down and relax together. However, if it's a busy time of the year, sometimes it can be silent as people are working the way through their urgent matters. .

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Warner Bros did a fantastic job to make us feel at home - including many training sessions and activities that bring us all together to get to know the company. Interns are part of the family and are much loved in the WB family - so it's great to see that the Interns are probably one of the more connected groups at WB.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had a great deal of training and development programs whilst at WB - including lunch and learn schemes, voluntary days and general intern training sessions. Within your team itself, they will always help and guide you with any questions you may have during your time there.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    National Travel

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Travel loan

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • WB don't have any graduate schemes, but a great deal of interns are asked back following the completion of their degree.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We became the tightest group of friends and we did a 'hell of a lot' together. I will definitely speak to these people for the rest of my life!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive - as expected. I lived close to work so didn't have to get any form of transport in the morning, but expect your food and bills to be costly, along with your socialising funds. However, I definitely survived on the WB salary and had money left over each month to do what I wanted!

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was good - but most of the time we travelled about as London is so big!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • It completely depends what you want to do - but there a whole load of stuff that WB help you with and give you. If you're lucky - you may also get asked to go to Warner Bros Film premieres!
