The Role
Words can't describe how much I'm going to miss working for Warner Brothers. Everything, from the team dynamic, to the work I produced, to all the fantastic perks are going to be missed massively. Honesty - best year of my life.
You're so important to your team at Warner Bros, because the games team is extremely small. You're heavily relied upon and expected to deliver on time and to the best of your ability. Don't walk into this placement expecting it to be easy - and people will respect and value you!
It was a difficult year as I had two separate supervisors with completely contrasting management skills. However, this works in your favour as you get more of an experience to carry forward with you in the future.
As mentioned, this team is a small one so you will be given a great deal of work to complete. But don't worry - people will always be in the wings to support you if need be!
I was responsible for creating a large amount of the things we release, along with dealing with important WB partners. You're given a lot of responsibility and meet a lot of important people!
I do a degree in Geography, yet got this placement for Marketing and PR in Games. Don't be worried about applying for this placement if you haven't got a degree in Marketing/PR as you can still thrive and pick up a load of great skills for the future. Whilst this doesn't particularly help my degree - it's help me chose a field I can definitely see myself working in for the future.
The Company
This is completely dependant on how busy we are. When we're a bit more flexible - we have a good laugh, do lots of team related fun activities and occasionally sit down and relax together. However, if it's a busy time of the year, sometimes it can be silent as people are working the way through their urgent matters. .
Warner Bros did a fantastic job to make us feel at home - including many training sessions and activities that bring us all together to get to know the company. Interns are part of the family and are much loved in the WB family - so it's great to see that the Interns are probably one of the more connected groups at WB.
We had a great deal of training and development programs whilst at WB - including lunch and learn schemes, voluntary days and general intern training sessions. Within your team itself, they will always help and guide you with any questions you may have during your time there.

WB don't have any graduate schemes, but a great deal of interns are asked back following the completion of their degree.
The Culture
We became the tightest group of friends and we did a 'hell of a lot' together. I will definitely speak to these people for the rest of my life!
London is expensive - as expected. I lived close to work so didn't have to get any form of transport in the morning, but expect your food and bills to be costly, along with your socialising funds. However, I definitely survived on the WB salary and had money left over each month to do what I wanted!
It was good - but most of the time we travelled about as London is so big!
It completely depends what you want to do - but there a whole load of stuff that WB help you with and give you. If you're lucky - you may also get asked to go to Warner Bros Film premieres!
