The Role
I felt that my placement was very rewarding and a great learning experience. The support throughout the scheme was great, especially from HR. I felt that the projects were challenging and the rotations allowed you to get a feel for what you do and do not like.
I felt very valued by my colleagues as the projects I was managing contributed to the brand strategy. Furthermore, my manager would include me in many meetings whereby I could contribute and give my own opinion.
I think the support in my first rotation was phenomenal. The team were supportive as a whole and my manager was very inspiring. He supported me through all projects and tried to develop me and push boundaries.
I felt I was constantly busy and juggling projects as well. There were times when I was very busy but the end goal was worth it!
I felt that I was given a substantial amount of responsibility and there were a couple of projects where I was able to manage and present it to senior management.
I feel the skills I have learnt will not only allow me to think more strategically but also add value to new projects. Furthermore, I have developed my people skills where I can understand how to manage expectations as well as liaising with various stakeholders to achieve the objective at hand.
The Company
Very lively and supportive. It felt like a family in that everyone would help each other with work and motivate each other. The team were also very social which meant that the fun continued in the office as well as out.
I felt that the placement was very well organised and there were key objectives to help me learn and deliver. The HR team understood my strengths and weaknesses and helped me to develop these by placing me in the correct role.
I felt that the training and development team from the Learning team was invaluable. There were training sessions which covered many skills but were also applicable to our individual lives. I felt that the Marketing Live training was a great way to teach us about various categories, L'Oreal's goals and the business as whole.
