The Role
I really enjoyed my placement. Although some tasks could be repetitive, I was often challenged, learnt a huge amount, was exposed to many different areas of the business and was given lots of responsibility.
I felt really valued by my team - they constantly gave me praise onmy progress, and I was gradually given tasks with more importance and had more independence.
My manager was incredible throughout the year! She was great at supporting me whilst also pushing me to do projects and giving me huge amounts of responsibility. I learnt a huge amount from my manager and she helped get me exposure to lots of people within the business.
I was very busy most of the time on a daily basis - this is what I enjoyed! Although some periods would be quite quiet, for the most part I had lots to do and enjoyed being pushed and challenged.
Huge amounts! I was fully in charge of the operational running of a major customer, had huge amounts of contact with our major customers & was trusted to complete tasks on my own which would have a massive impact on the entire business.
I learnt a lot which can be used later on: organisation, prioritising (finding that balance between daily tasks, ad hoc tasks and projects), and communication (communicating with many people across L'Oreal but also with customers) were the top 3 skills I feel I learnt this year.
The Company
Very sociable and dynamic!
I was in a different office for the first 2 months which was tough whilst I was learning the ropes- I would have liked to have been warned beforehand that this was going to happen! Other than this, the overall organisation was good
Had some training but nothing in particular
Subsidised Canteen

Working from home
The grad scheme is very competitive and challenging at Loreal - would be great to be given the opportunity to do it! Interns get priority so future prospects are good (but there are a lot of interns!)
The Culture
Very good social scene! Team nights out, intern nights out, massive Christmas party and monthly drinks with the division
Expensive! But London is a great place to live.
London has options that will appeal to everyone!
