    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the job and relished the first hand experiences it has given me. However the long unpredictable hours just encrouched too much on the rest of life outside of work.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My branch collegues have made me feel like an indispensable memeber of the team and i would work very hard for each and every one of them.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The structured training programme and the training classes associated are excellent. The in branch training can be very hit or miss. More often than not the dailyu work load in my experience does not leave sufficient time for any good quality in branch training.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a daily basis i do not believe there should be a minute where there is not something to do. The job has taught me the skill to be able to multi task and organise and prioritise my work load as well as teaching me to work at a high intensity.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given the opportunity on a couple of occassions to run the branch which i found very challenging, as i feel its a role that i understand but would just take practice as the skills and daily duties differ substantially from that of a management trainee.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel the skills i have received and developed will stand me in very good stead for the final year of my degree and my career ahead and will make me a very marketable prospective employee for almost any business role in the future.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in my office was always very good. This could of been different had i not been placed with the employees that i did. A positive atmosphere was something that we all had to work at when times were hard and morale was low.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The training program is very well structured at ERAC that you follow as an intern. A negative point is that training that is carried out at the regional head office is that the information is often important information that should of been communicated down through the company earlier and had a trainee from the branch not attended then the valuable information would not have been passed on the branch level. A positive aspect is that the training program is something that every member has carried out at the start of their career and is very structured and achieveable.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • During the first 9 months of my placement a significant amount of time was invested into my training and development. As i have drawn nearer to the end of my placement the investement has tailed off drastically mainly due to my branch manager as i feel the later stages of the training folder is heavily dependent on the branch manager and the trainee.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Healthcare from home

    1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They have verbally told me that they would be delighted to have me return when i graduate to continue my career with them.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social was good at enterprise, something which was aided by the excellent performance of the branch in the last 6 months.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living was reasonable as was socialising but some how i still have not managed to save any money during my placement.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in Bournemouth is as good as you get anywhere in the uk, but with the long working hours you just have to hope your not too exhausted so you can make the most of it.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were some but they are mainly organised amoungst myself and collegues within the branch and local area.

    3/5
