The Role
The placement year was a lot more fun than I expected it to be, I can't fault it.
I was valued by colleagues who are more experienced than me as they challenged me daily and praised me when necessary and I was valued by colleagues newer than me as they looked up to me for training and development.
I had a great relationship with all of my managers, they all brought different insights to my placement year for which I'm extremely grateful for.
I worked in a fast paced environment where hard work was acknowledged and I needed to perform my very best every day in order to show I have the potential to become a manager and that I was hungry for development. I was always learning something knew which kept me busy and I was based in the biggest branch in Europe which meant there was always something to do.
The more I stepped up and performed greatly, the more responsibility I was given . I discovered quickly that to gain more responsibility I had to make business decisions which catered the best interests of the branch. The managers were great at ensuring I achieved my full potential.
Greatly! I struggled with time management at university, now I have worked shift work hours and worked in a fast paced environment I will be on the right track to meet essential university deadlines and manage my time more effectively.
The Company
The Heathrow Branch was always an energetic environment, it is a fun and friendly environment for everyone to work in. The atmosphere in my office was infectious, if I was down or in a bad mood the atmosphere would always immediately change how I'm feeling.
It was a very well organised and simple process when achieving the placement position and I have constant monthly and 3 month reviews to assess my progression. My progression wasn't stuck at just being an Intern. I was treated the same as a graduate therefore the managers valued my progression too, which is why is was so well organised.
The business invested a lot of time and effort to train me up to my full potential. I was always hungry for more training because I wanted to get the most out of this year, therefore when the managers saw I was hungry they developed me quickly too. I'm extremely grateful to each and every person at Enterprise whom has been a part of my development.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to come back as I have enjoyed my placement year greatly,
The Culture
There is a great mix of ages which is what made it extremely fun. I was always socializing with other interns and graduated outside of work. I have made some life long friends.
I luckily lived with my family therefore didn't have to pay rent which is why I had a good spending limit for socializing and the Internship paid well too
I was a tube journey away from central london so I was always going out, and because my days of would be the same as the people I worked with it was great going out with colleagues outside work.
My managers were always doing after work bowling for my team or team meals which was great and Enterprise would hold events too for everybody to attend.
