  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I felt like I was given enough responsibility from day one, and was made to feel like a member of staff rather than just an intern

  • My team were brilliant, they helped me look for houses when I relocated and were always happy to answer questions whilst I was learning

  • I had weekly updates with my manager to set targets and review my progress

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It varies from day to day depending on the projects I had. Some days I could be doing just enough work to get by comfortably, others I could be rushed off my feet

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for software development, metrics and handling finances for different departments which was much more than I ever expected

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned an invaluable range of skills and experience that I just would not have got in my degree alone, I would recommend this placement to anybody

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • With larger projects sometimes there was some stress, but overall we had a small office filled with laughs

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was well organised and clearly defined between me and my manager. I was also given the opportunity to network with all of the other interns at different sites

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They offered me to get involved on any projects I wanted, and supported any extra training or projects that I wanted to undertake. They put a great deal of responsibility in me also

  • I have an increased chance of getting onto their graduate scheme from getting myself known with high level company management

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We often organised or attended social events together, mostly going out drinking

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived in an expensive part of the city so didn't see much of my wages

  • I lived in Newcastle so the nightlife was amazing

  • I joined the Sports and Social club and got involved, events were advertised in weekly newsletters and on posters around the site
